Prices and fills
Why is the tape delayed?
Real time exchange data is licensed and expensive. A delay costs nothing and changes none of what the rules test.
The feed runs roughly ten to twelve minutes behind the exchange. Real time CME data carries a licence fee per user, and this site is free.
The delay changes nothing about what the rules test. A loss limit does not care when the bar printed, only how far the price moved against you while you held it.
Every rule here is read on the tape's clock and never on your wall clock, because the tape is the only thing you can see. A news window, a resting order and a session boundary are all judged at the same delayed instant, so nothing is measured against a bar you were never shown.
